Anne Metzger, RN, OD
Anne Metzger, RN, OD received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University in 1996. Since then she has been providing eye care in Colorado to children and adults of all ages. Prior to and during Optometry School, Dr. Metzger worked as a Registered Nurse, primarily working with children at The Children’s Hospital in Denver. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing from The University of Florida in 1986 and continues to hold an active RN license in Colorado.
The importance of Children’s vision is at the core of Dr. Metzger’s role as an Optometrist. Due to personal childhood challenges with vision and visual functioning, Dr. Metzger has a deep understanding of childhood experiences related to school performance and how visual functioning has a direct relationship with a child’s learning experience in and out of the classroom. Optometric care at an early age benefits children, their families and their teachers in helping to provide the most optimal learning environment for all involved. Dr. Metzger is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Colorado Optometric Association. She served as a member of the Colorado Optometric Association Board of Directors earlier in her career.
Dr. Metzger has been married to Dag for 29 years and they have two grown daughters and a lovable yellow Labrador. Swimming, bicycling, skiing, snowshoeing are a few of Dr. Metzger and her family’s active pursuits.
